“SHIFTING THE BOUNDARIES OF TRAINING”

The concept of “Training for Impact” has been adopted by the Academy, which differentiates the Academy from standard concept in the Industry of “Training for Activity”. Training being labelled most of the time as a “grudge expense” is also the first to suffer when a Budget is not made. The sole reason for this is that most people cannot see the benefits of investing in training due to the unstructured and out of focus approach from training institutes. The Academy’s courses are therefore focusing on the” outcome” meaning that our students can apply the theory in the practice with specific outcomes that will have an impact in the workplace.

Taking this concept into the future means that Learnerships and other Training Programmes that leads to a formal qualification must be presented in such a way that the impact of employees attending residential courses at the Academy are minimized through technology, i.e. e-learning platforms that is easily accessible by the students at their respective workplaces and with employer’s involvement to assist the student in mastering the practical skills within the workplace.

E-learning implies that a learner will be able to register for such a course from any internet access point, receive training via the platform and do assignments on the platform including automated assessments according the ETQA standards. Learner’s progress are monitored by facilitators remotely with one-on-one interventions. E-learning will reduce costs like transport, overtime for replacements when attending a residential course as well as production man hours.

The Academy provides security training at all levels as well as Skills Development Training, including both full qualifications programmes and short Courses. Supervisory and Management Training are high on the priority list aiming towards an International Accreditation.

Understanding the need in the Industry for “Soft Skills” training such as Computer skills, Client Services and Relations, we have designed specific related courses to accommodate this shortcoming. Our full spectrum of Health and Safety training courses will ensure that all Companies could comply with legal requirements. The Academy developed a unique Health & Safety Management course which is accredited by City & Guilds and backed the British Royal Charter.
